Songwriting apps compared: organising voice memos and unfinished songs

Most songwriters already run a system: Voice Memos for ideas, Notes for lyrics, a folder for bounces, maybe a Trello board. Here is what each tool is good at, and where it stops.

Apple NotesLyricsHolds the words but not the recordings

What to look for

If you write a lot, the thing that matters is the middle: getting from a pile of voice memos to a few finished demos. Look for a way to keep every take of a song together, see which songs are nearly done, merge half songs, and share a demo with one link people can comment on.

A simple setup that works

Keep recording wherever is fastest (usually Voice Memos). Once a week, move new recordings into one place, name them, and decide which song each belongs to. Keep lyrics with the recordings. Share demos as links, not attachments.

Want this done for you? songdrafts is a board for your voice memos: every take stacked on one card, songs that move across stages, merging half songs, and one share link with comments pinned to the second. Works offline, and nothing you upload trains AI. What is songdrafts?
