songdrafts vs Trello for songwriters

A Trello board for songs is a good instinct: columns for Ideas, Half written and Finished, a card per song, drag it right when it gets better. It is the same idea songdrafts is built on. The difference is what happens when you want to hear the song.

When Trello is enough

If your songs live somewhere else and the board is just a list of what to work on, Trello does the job. songdrafts is for when the recordings are the point: you want to hear a take from the card, keep every version together, and send a demo without a download.

Can I keep using Trello for songs?

Yes, and plenty of songwriters do. If you only need a list of titles and never need to hear the recording from the card, Trello is fine and free.

Can Trello play audio?

Not from the card. An audio attachment opens as a download, and bigger recordings often will not attach at all, so most people end up pasting a Google Drive link on each card.

Can I move my Trello board into songdrafts?

There is no import from Trello yet. Most boards are a few columns and a handful of titles, so recreating the columns takes a minute, and the recordings come in from your phone or computer as audio files.

What does songdrafts cost?

$79 a year or $12 a month (£59 and £9 in the UK), with a 30-day money-back guarantee on the first payment. The first 100 yearly members pay a founding price of $49 (£36) a year for as long as they stay.

Want this done for you? songdrafts is a board for your voice memos: every take stacked on one card, songs that move across stages, merging half songs, and one share link with comments pinned to the second. Works offline, and nothing you upload trains AI. What is songdrafts?
